Important Milestone Achieved on Amur Project: 1.3 Bn Euro Construction Subcontract Awarded

Saint Petersburg, 25 May 2018 – With reference to the already announced 3.9 billion euro “package 3” AMUR Gas Processing Plant (AGPP) which Maire Tecnimont Group is executing in Svobodny (in the far eastern Amur region, Russian Federation) for JSC NIPIgaspererabotka (NIPIGas) – acting as general contractor in the interest of Gazprompererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC, part of Gazprom Group, Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. announces that a very significant construction subcontract agreement has been signed during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), between the Group’s main contractor Tecnimont, through its subsidiary Tecnimont Russia LLC, and the subcontractor Renaissance Heavy Industries (RHI). SPIEF is one of the leading annual international conferences dedicated to key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets, and the world as a whole.

The amount of the subcontract awarded today by Tecnimont Russia to RHI is approximately 1.3 billion euro, and pertains to the reimbursable portion of the contract. The scope of work entails civil, structural, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and pre-commissioning activities covering the major part of the construction works of package 3.  

The subcontract agreement was signed by Maire Tecnimont Group CEO Pierroberto Folgiero, and Rönesans Holding President Dr. Erman Ilicak, at the presence of Gazprom Group CEO Alexey MillerMaire Tecnimont Chairman Fabrizio Di Amato and Italian Ambassador to Russia Pasquale Terracciano, along with other Russian and Italian officials.

Once completed, the whole AGPP complex will be one of the largest gas processing plants in the world with a feed gas capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, and an essential part  of Gazprom’s strategic plan to supply Russian natural gas to China.
